Hi Davenport Girls!!
What a cool thing.. especially for a 7 year old!
The kids at both orphanages in Bali are in good shape as far as shoes go. They get lots of people bringing clothes etc. on their vacations to Bali. The orphanages on Subma and Timor though, they are on very remote islands and can go many months without a single visitor. They are run by the same Franciscan Nuns - 14 orphanages in all spread out throughout the Indonesian islands. I visited both Sumba and Timor orphanages this past October for the first time. They are doing much better now, but still have a long ways to go before they are in as stable of a condition as the Bali orphanages. I put the addresses for Sumba and Timor in this blog post http://bracelets-blog.com/2011/09/25/sumba-timor-orphanages/ (this is the company we originally created to raise funds for the Bali orphanages and now have expanded to Sumba and Timor) The video of the orphanages would be worth watching with your daughter. You can see those here: www.youtube.com/watch?v=RLk46W1N02E
Thank you so much for caring and 3 BIG cheers to you for raising a daughter with such a giving heart!

My daughter is requesting shoes instead of gifts for her 7th birthday and she would like to donate them to the kids. Is this type of package ok to mail to you? If so, may we please have your mailing address. Hope to hear from you soon!
